Digital Event Coordinator
|The UN Secretary-General established the UN SDG Action Campaign to inspire people and organizations from all backgrounds and every part of the world to take actions to achieve the SDGs, while holding decision-makers to account for progress society-wide. Ultimately, the Campaign’s goal is to channel the power of people, through growing SDG networks, to understand, commit to and act on the Goals –and inspire others to do the same. At a moment of acute crisis in our world, the Campaign is seizing the opportunity of a turning point to rethink behavior, reorient policymaking and ramp up services critical for a just and sustainable recovery that takes our societies all the way to the SDGs.
The UN SDG Action Campaign is hosted and supported by the UNDP Executive Office and has a lean team with diverse skills based in Bonn (Germany). The Campaign operates in an agile, adaptable manner. It marshals rapid support for new initiatives as opportunities arise and provides partners with on-demand strategic creative services that inspire SDG action with an engaged community of activists and concerned individuals. The Campaign also serves as a creative lab for advocacy, a first mover for innovative and creative initiatives, such as the recent Global Hackathon, the Global Day for Hope and Solidarity, and the first-ever virtual SDG Action Zone during the high-level week of the UN General Assembly.
For priority constituencies, the Campaign develops tailored tools and strategies. It forges links to key decision-making moments at the local, national and global levels, including the High-Level Political Forum, the UN General Assembly, and follow-up meetings tracking international conventions and treaties.
The COVID-19 pandemic has compelled the UN SDG Action Campaign to thoroughly revise and recalibrate its strategy and programme for the year 2021 and beyond. This has notably affected in-person events and related convening spaces such as the SDG Global Festival of Action and the SDG Action Awards hosted by the UN SDG Action Campaign, among other relevant events supported by the Campaign.
In order to effectively deliver on the above, the UN SDG Action Campaign is seeking to recruit a Digital Event Coordinator reporting to the Global Events Strategist to support on the digital version of the Festival of Action and SDG Actions Awards held from 25th-26th of March 2021.
Duties and Responsibilities
|Digital Event Platform Management
With support from the Global Event Strategist, act as the focal point between the SDG Global Festival of Action project team and the event platform provider to determine, develop and deliver:
Focal Point for the planning and development of the production schedules and trackers to ensure a smooth event delivery:
Live studio production integration with digital event platform
Develop workstreams for the digital event
Expected Outputs and Deliverables
Event, Meeting, and Workshop Facilitation: Ability to plan and organize events
Ability to plan, organize, and control resources, procedures and protocols to achieve specific goals
Required Skills and Experience
BA in Digital Production, Event Management or related field.
Minimum 3 years of previous working experience in event production.
Demonstrable experience in digital platforms and processes.
Extremely organized with attention to detail.
Ability to adapt and re-direct workflow in response to project demands.
Strong project management experience.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and ability to interface with external partners.
Fluency in English. Knowledge of additional UN languages is an asset
Criteria for Selection of the Best offer:
The selection of the best offer will be based on the combined scoring method, where the qualifications and methodology will be weighted 70 percent, and then combined with the price offer, which will be weighted 30 percent.
Technical Criteria – 70 % of total evaluation– max. 70 points:

Interview: 40 points;
Only those individual consultants who obtain at least 70% of points from the technical evalutaion will be considered for the financial proposal evaluation.
Financial Criteria – 30 % of total evaluation – max. 30 points.

The financial proposal shall consist of the total contract price for the whole duration of the contract period, which shall include the consultancy fee, costs of living, costs for insurance. The financial proposal shall also contain a breakdown of these costs. The lump-sum/contract price is fixed regardless of subsequent changes in the cost components.
If an Offeror is employed by an organization/company/institution, and he/she expects his/her employer to charge a management fee in the process of releasing him/her to UNV under Reimbursable Loan Agreement (RLA), the Offeror must indicate at this point and ensure that all such costs are duly incorporated in the financial proposal submitted to UNV
