Mount Pleasant Eco Park have an exciting opportunity for an Events Manager to join their growing business and develop the already bustling events calendar. Working alongside the Manager, the Eco Park is looking for someone who can maximise income by running events and hiring out the Eco Park spaces, at the same time as retaining the community ethos of the site. The role will incorporate everything from booking the event, to marketing and managing the event from start to finish. We require someone with bags of energy and the drive to use the Eco Park to its full potential.

Mount Pleasant Eco Park is a unique venue set on a 42-acre estate, with indoor and outdoor extraordinary spaces to hire, rural workshops, a community garden, wild campsite and a vegetarian café at its heart. It hosts music events, festivals, markets, conferences, workshops and weddings. As well as having its very own print room using the most environmental printing techniques. Located on the hilltop bordering an area of outstanding natural beauty near Porthtowan, there is a focus on community, best sustainable practise, the natural environment and working towards creating a better world to live in.

Duties will include

  • Booking weddings, private parties, conferences and workshops
  • Overseeing marketing, including website, advertising, listings, social media, blogs and writing press releases
  • Responding to enquiries and hosting show rounds
  • Overseeing the operations of events, including liaising with caterers and other suppliers
  • Managing a small team of staff and ensuring everyone knows what is required
  • Working with outside partners to host fairs and festivals and write event plans
  • Attending wedding days as venue manager and responsible person

Essential Skills

  • Friendly and calm nature
  • A passion for the environment
  • 3 years experience in a similar role
  • Working knowledge of WordPress websites
  • Excellent understanding of social media and Mail Chimp
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Experience of writing press releases
  • Excellent organisation and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience of reporting on and reviewing key performance indicators to support decision-making

Desirable Skills

  • Previous experience promoting and running music events
  • Previous experience managing weddings
  • Photography

Terms

  • 25k per annum pro rata
  • 32 hours a week including weekend work when required
  • 28 days holiday a year
