The Senior Manager of Events is responsible for all strategy, oversight, and management of Programming and Events for The Durst Organization. This individual will oversee a dynamic team of managers who focus on programming for the residential and commercial portfolios, and manage corporate-sponsored events (internal and external). The Senior Manager will collaborate closely with other departments, including Marketing, Residential, Commercial Leasing, Operations and other members of the Durst team to ensure the Programming and Events team meet the business needs and standards. The Senior Manager of Programming and Events will also develop and oversee metrics and success criteria of all programming and events to better inform decisions around vendor selection, maximize amenity space utilization and identify type of future programing. In addition, the Senior Manager will play a visible role at our properties including direct interaction with tenants and residents to gauge excitement and interest in particular programming offerings.


  • Programming
    • Develop authentic, Durst brand aligned programming for tenants and residents
    • Participate in creative process to enhance the tenant & resident experience.
    • Administer programming events, as needed
    • Build relationships to expand the reach and depth of the programming we offer
    • Develop and ensure adherence to programming budgets and other key performance indicators
    • Help to establish the Durst amenities brand through innovative programs
    • Ensure healthy, efficient workload for Durst event managers
    • Ensure resources and staff are properly allocated to projects
  • Events
    • Supervise and direct the external events process and approvals
    • Lead promotional activities for events
    • Coordinate the administration and planning for events held at a Durst location, as needed
    • Streamline and create replicable processes
    • Ensure events are completed smoothly and resolve any problems that might occur
    • Analyze the event’s success and prepare reports
    • Develop and ensure adherence to programming budgets and other key performance indicators
    • Ensure resources and staff are properly allocated for each event
  • Reporting and Resident/Tenant Engagement
    • Create, review and monitor surveys/ customer feedback process
    • Develop and implement tenant/ resident engagement action plans
    • Regularly attend programming and communicate regularly with residents and tenants
    • Oversee all Amenity experience across Residential and Commercial portfolios including but not limited to all lifestyle and fitness amenities and programming, shuttle ride experience, music, fruit offerings, resident/tenant events.
  • Serve as a resource, advocate, and catalyst for sustainability at The Durst Organization. Apply the skills unique to your core job responsibilities for practical integration of sustainability into processes, standard operating procedures, and adopted business practices. Seek to empower our colleagues, consultants, tenants and residents to prioritize and actively engage in environmental stewardship.


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of experience managing a team within Amenities, Events, or Marketing
  • Proven track record managing budgets and working within specified timelines.
  • Strong organizational, prioritization and planning skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills for managing relationships with clients, staff and vendors.
  • Ability to take direction, think creatively and proactively suggest solutions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to give clear, concise direction.
  • Strong public speaking skills preferred, but not required
  • Proven ability to provide and lead a team regarding Guest service capabilities
