About This Project

Client Brief

Legacy was commissioned to support event activation for brands Futerra and Kao at Sustainable Brands Paris, including exhibition stand design, on-site management, and hospitality coordination for VIP guests. We also We organised a product launch at the event for the client’s latest product and organised a drinks reception and networking dinner for a group of VIPs, including the Environment Minister for France

Purpose of the Events

As Europe’s largest conference on brand-led sustainability transformations, Sustainable Brands convenes over 3,000 changemakers over 3 days to catalyse innovation.

How we delivered the event

We handled sourcing sustainable materials such as flooring and lighting per event guidelines, overseeing stand setup/teardown, managing suppliers, resolving ad hoc issues, and ensuring smooth guest experiences. For the Futerra stand, we created an interactive demonstration of how personal actions can support global development goals. At Kao’s stand, we produced an exhibit showcasing the company’s breakthrough sustainable packaging solutions. For the VIP reception, we sourced a sustainable restaurant in Paris serving a predominantly plant-based menu.

Outcomes & Lessons Learned

Despite a complex venue, tight supplier timelines, and numerous attendee interactions, both stands stimulated positive brand impressions and rich dialogues – though not without overcoming a few hurdles. Excessive promotional “swag” proved one such challenge; we’ve since implemented clearer client guidelines to align branded collateral with sustainability objectives. Sourcing an event-appropriate yet sustainable Parisian restaurant last-minute also highlighted venue supply gaps prime for disruption.

Overall, the event afforded learnings now being used to streamline future partnerships between these conscience-driven brands and the wider sustainability community.

Sustainability Achievements

From repurposed stand materials to suppliers, we optimised sustainability performance at every opportunity, including:

  • Stand elements reusable for future events to reduce waste
  • Locally sourced catering and supplies to minimise transport miles
  • Eliminating paper collateral through digital communications
  • Rented AV equipment to extend lifespans rather than buying new
